Every one’s favorite southern belle, Reese Witherspoon, won the Best Actress trophy for her role in Walk the Line at the 71st Annual New York Film Critics Circle Awards.
As you can see, she looked fabulous accepting it. She paired the quintessential little black dress with impressive earrings possessed of gravitas. Normally these are the kind of earrings you would see on women with a few more years on them, but Reese shows that they can work for the younger gals too! Here the earrings are coupled with a youthful everything else; hair down, fresh face, and every girl’s best wardrobe friend – the little black dress. In that context, the otherwise hefty earrings make a fun and whimsical statement, kinda like when you were a kid and raided your Mom’s jewelry box. Well unless you’re Rahulio whose family growing up was too poor to afford jewelry. Instead, little Rahulio would save scraps of bread from his meals and later in private, he would fashion these into crowns, earings and whatnot. One day he’d be a pirate making off with booty, the next the Queen of England – see what I mean? Total whimsy!
The earrings themselves, a combo of diamonds and gems in a classic teardrop shape are a perfect example of eye catching glam which can stand alone with grace. Get the strikingly similar pair seen here (3/8 Carat Yellow Sapphire and Diamond) for just $295.
