After 16 years on TV, Lisa Simpson (no relation to Jessica Simpson) really is a television icon. When Lisa first appreared on TV in 1990, I’m sure she had no idea that the program about her functionally dysfunctional family would be on the air this long. Bookish but bold, Lisa has a classic sense of style. She wears a flirty skirt paired with a classic strand of pearls.

pearl necklaceLadies, pearls are a jewerly basic and if you don’t have a strand, it’s time to invest. Here’s a perfect strand of pearls to start you off. This 18-inch necklace features 5.0-5.0mm Akoya pearls and a beautiful filigree 14K gold clasp. Pearls are great for both the office and a night out. They coordinate well with almost any outfit and really give a woman a finished look. Pearls are a smart choice for a job interview outfit too.

pearl necklace with heart clasp This heart clasp might be too sweet for Lisa’s taste, but I think that it adds a little romance to this 18-inch strand of 6-6.5mm cultured freshwater pearls. At just $95, this necklace is just too good to pass up!

pearl earringsOk, I love you Lisa, but sweetie, you need to wear earrings! I mean, you don’t want to be like Britney. Here’s a great pair of pearl earrings that will go with any pearl necklace. Simple and elegant, these earrings are set on yellow gold posts.

While I am talking about animated TV stars, have you noticed how Mariah Carey is taking style notes from Smurfette? I mean check out the whole bug-on-the finger thing Smurfette’s got going on here and tell me that’s not two wings away from Mariah’s butterfly obsession.
