As we all get accustomed to the least shocking news of the year, the drama continues on.
Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey are about to enter into a huge legal battle over money. She’s worth $50 million US, mostly earned during their three-year marriage; he’s poor, by comparison, with $5 million. Under California law, she’ll have to split her fortune with him when they divorce and support him for 18 months after the divorce.
That’s going to hurt. Simpson has reportedly hired some high powered divorce Lawyers including Robert Kaufman, who represented Jennifer Aniston in her divorce from Brad Pitt.
But in any Hollywood divorce, more important than the battle for money, is the battle for the public’s sympathy. It seems Simpson is coping by doing a little partying. Not the best move if you ask me. it’s best to play the heartbroken but strong divorcee, a la Jennifer Aniston. So how do we win the nation’s sympathy? By proper accessorization skills, of course.
