Sparkle Like The Stars

Well, poor Uma Thurman. I mean, aside from her fortune and wonderful career and amazing action talent. Apparently La Thurman (that one doesn’t work at all, does it?) has had stalker troubles, as occasionally plague prettier Hollywood actresses. Fortunately for national stability, if not for tabloids, it didn’t reach attempted assassin proportions, as with Jodie Foster; apparently Thurman’s stalker did, however, send her some “original stick figure art.” (I wonder if actresses compete over this.)

Not to sound creepy, but it’s easy to see how someone could get in a little over his head over Uma Thurman, because she is gorgeous. Check her out here. Isn’t that just a good idea of how to put a woman’s face together? And, because it’s me, I’m also drawn to her bracelet. I’m usually not a fan of super, super ornate, but on its own and paired with a simple, elegant outfit this bracelet could be beyond sensational. She looks super-cute here. Her dress, provided it’s long enough, which I can’t really tell from the picture and could go either way, is tremendously flattering while still being age-appropriate. It’s also a wonderful color for her complexion, which looks active and tanned without seeming fakebaked. I’m not crazy about her chunky highlights, but that’s a choice and they don’t look bad, just not to my taste. I’m on the fence about whether she has on too much jewelry. There’s no one piece I would object to, but earrings and cocktail ring and bangles could be just too much. I’d probably need to have a better look at her earrings to be sure.

She could simplify and streamline her look while still being dressy - and still having the fun of a lot of jewelry - by replacing her various gold bangles with this two-tone yellow and white gold bracelet. What is that dress? It is tight, blood red, and features a form-fitting rhinestone netting. I literally could not have imagined it even with a high fever and having licked a toad. Is that a spider on her bodice? Is she just, like, so different from the other kids at Anton LaVey Junior High?

I just looked at the dress again and suddenly realized it might be supposed to be heavy-grade snakeskin, and I guess if she’s willing to face the “Save the Dragons” people, I should leave her alone.

Her bracelet would be lovely if it didn’t defy one of the cardinal unspoken (until now, apparently) rules of red carpet couture: never match your accessories to your dress in an exaggerated cartoon fashion. There’s so much shine everywhere with the dress and the bracelet and the dress and another part of the dress that she looks like the villianess from a moderately risque Saturday morning cartoon - Baroness Glitterpoison von Boltz, I’m imagining. The B-52’s would do the theme song.

…I should actually storyboard that cartoon. Before I do, though, I will recommend that you buy this seven-and-a-half carat diamond and white gold bracelet.
