Sparkle Like The Stars

I always like seeing Kristin Scott Thomas. She’s got style, she’s got class, and this year at Cannes she’s got some gorgeous earrings!

She was at Cannes promoting Chromophobia, her first English language film since 2001’s Gosford Park.

Chromophobia, shot on the Isle of Man, re-teamed Ms. Thomas with her English Patient co-star Ralph Fiennes.

The film also happens to be directed by one Martha Fiennes, sister to the above mentioned Ralph and Joseph, with whom Kristin Scott Thomas stars in the evolutionary film Man to Man, also set to be released this year. Yet another Fiennes brother, Magnus, yes that’s really his name, is a music composer, and their sister Sophie does enough in the industry to be on IMDB. We all know nepotism still reigns in Hollywood, but does it now work by proxy?

Back on point. We love the earrings. The ascending circle shapes have a retro feel, but the smaller size and the use of white gold and diamonds, as seen here, gives it a more contemporary spin. Kitsch and elegance all in one? Circle earrings always make me think of Haight Ashbury - and given the price of real estate in San Francisco these days, these lavishly appointed (but economically priced) pieces of Jewelry might actually be quite apropos! The Stars are out at the Cannes Film Festival, including the you-haven’t-heard- of-her-yet-but-you-will Bollywood beauty Mallika Sherawat .

She was at the festival promoting her new movie The Myth with her kissed co-star Jackie Chan due state-side sometime this Year.

You might be wowed by the exotic look, those cheekbones, that dress (hello gorgeous!) but don’t miss that killer ring on her hand above. A large ring adds dramatic punctuation to any outfit, and the dark green emerald adds to the air of Eastern mystery she’s got going on. We’re lovin’ it.

The Rahulio notes that it is that time of the year again where the fabulous and not so fabulous get together in Cannes to see the movies and just walk around being, well, fabulous! Look! Even the Woody Allen, he is trying to look good with that otherwise ill fitting tuxedo. The Woody, I am appreciating the effort but you still look like a big, how you say, shlepp? His appearance is improved by being in the company of the young Scarlett Johansson. She is so so magnifico!

Yes, the Woody is a very impressive accessory for the Scarlett because he is the big, important director, but the Scarlett, she had on another accessory that was impressive. The Rahulio is talking about that very nice Tennis bracelet around her wrist. I know, you are thinking “The Rahulio! Isn’t a tennis bracelet too much for one so young and delicate?” To that the Rahulio responds “No!” No because the tennis bracelet, as worn here, serves to accentuate the Scarlett’s pretty delicate wrists. It makes the Rahulio want to grab the Scarlett and say “Let’s get away from this sordid Woody Allen man and dance, dance, through the streets of France where I will buy for you a croissant!”

The Rahulio, he continues to none of the less be amused by the Woody. The paparazzi, always looking for the bent angle, asked the Scarlett how she felt about being the Woody’s new muse, because she is working with him not once but two times now . Before she answered the Woody quietly (but not so quietly enough that the microphones could not pick it up) told the Scarlett to “careful, careful” and they both laughed ha ha ha. Be careful of what, the Woody? I guess we are all thinking and knowing of how it all turned out with the last muse, Mia Farrow. But do not worry! The Rahulio notes that Scarlett is Jewish and the Woody, he never dates other people of the chosen.

OK. Now the Rahulio, he is being silly. Don’t be silly everybody. Be so so magnificent with a tennis bracelet for you or your co-star. This one is even on the sale!

He must have a thing for taller women.

In case you’ve been hiding under a rock, 26 year old Katie Holmes has started dating 42 year old Tom Cruise. Ain’t that sweet.

In any case, it’ll be good for her. She’s got four movies coming out in the next two years, and this ought to be a nice boost for her career, and it’ll offer Tom further public proof that he is actually straight. Read all about thier cute little courtship here.

Anyway, here they were being convieniently cute and cuddly for the cameras, with her in huge diamond studs. Huge diamond studs are all well and good, if you’re dating one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood, but if you’re just a regular fabulous gal, go for something a little less ostentatious. If you’re under 30 and single, you really shouldn’t wear anything over a quarter carat, under 25 and 1/10 carat is all you need. You can get a little bigger with age or a husband.

Tom will soon be in the new big action Spielberg thriller War of the Worlds and Katie will next be in Batman Begins, starring the cute and talented Christian Bale, for whom cult status was clearly not enough.

Showing up the the premiere of Crash, Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe both looked like a real smile would positively kill them. Was it the movie or the marriage that was depressing them so? The world may never know.

If you’re going to look all meloncholy like that, the least you can do for the rest of us is be pretty at the same time, an art this southern belle seems to have mastered. Note the tasteful use of minimal, eyecatching accessories; Tahitian Pearl Earrings.

The spring time, it is so pretty no? The sun she finally come out and she say “Hello everybody! Remember me?” And of course it is starting to get more hottness on the people. So hot! Womens, they have to put their hair up because it is so hot, and suddenly you are noticing something - the ravishing neck line!

The smart women, who are used to having the stupid mens fall all over them, know the power of the ravishing neckline and how to emphasize it to powerful effect. The Rahulio would like to point to exhibit “A” - the Brittany Murphy, pictured here at the GLAAD Media Awards in the Los Angeles . The Miss Murphy, she is already very, very hot, no matter what the season. But she is wise and she does two things to make her hottness tlike the thermonuclear explosion. First she is wearing her hair up, exposing her neck line, then she is wearing the darling Chandelier earrings to emphasize (!) it further.
